Montenegrin police arrest 16 drug trafficking suspects, including police officer

Podgorica, Montenegro (10 September 2013) – Montenegrin police arrested 16 people suspected of unauthorised production, possession and distribution of narcotics, including a police officer. Arrests were carried out within months-long police action, in collaboration with the Office of Higher State Prosecutor in Podgorica, the Police Authority’s press release stated earlier today.
Coordinated action in the municipalities of Podgorica, Bar, Nikšić, Kotor and Tivat intersected several chains of distribution and illicit trade of cocaine, heroin and subotex on the territory of these cities.
Criminal charge covers 23 people, of which 16 were apprehended this morning, six people had already been taken into custody, and one person is still wanted, the press release reads.
