Podgorica, Montenegro (26 October 2013) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović hosted Friday Romanian Ambassador to Montenegro Mihail Florovic for a farewell visit.
He pointed out that the relations between the two countries improved significantly while Ambassador Florovic served as Head of Romanian Diplomatic Mission and thanked Romania for its continued support for Montenegro’s EU and NATO bid.
Both sides agreed that the imminent opening of the Embassy of Montenegro in Bucharest, as well as the visit of the Prime Minister of Romania, will be an additional incentive for upgrading the overall friendly relations between the two states.
Ambassador Florovic thanked PM Đukanović for the excellent cooperation he had with the Montenegrin Government and institutions, adding that in recent years he has witnessed remarkable progress Montenegro made in all areas.
Romania will continue to strongly support Montenegro and its ambitions to join the NATO and the European Union, Ambassador Florovic said, adding that Montenegro is already poised to become a NATO member state. The membership is significant as it ensures regional stability, but also the country’s economic development, through inspiring confidence and providing increased certainty for foreign investors, Ambassador Florovic concluded.
