Montenegro’s Prime Minister Đukanović: Montenegro highly praises cooperation with OSCE

Podgorica, Montenegro (1 November 2013) – Montenegro’s Prime Minister Mulo Đukanović met earlier today with OSCE Secretary General Lambero Zannier, with whom he discussed the need to continue the on-going constructive cooperation, and noted that the OSCE’s expertise is of great importance for Montenegro’s reform efforts.
PM Đukanović underlined that the OSCE remains an important forum for discussing international affairs and voiced Montenegro’s readiness to continue security cooperation with the organisation.
Mr Zannier congratulated Mr Đukanović on Montenegro’s efforts and its constructive role within the OSCE framework and its contribution to cooperation in the Western Balkans.
Secretary General Zannier emphasised that OSCE’s areas of interest match Montenegro’s needs in its integration efforts, and noted that the OSCE activities in Montenegro will focus on supporting the country’s reform processes.
While commending the success of the MONDEM programme, Mr Zannier underlined that Montenegro could help the OSCE’s activities by transferring knowledge to other countries where the OSCE has its missions.
The two officials discussed regional developments and agreed that the stability of the Western Balkans is very important for the overall stability and economic development of Europe as a whole.
