Podgorica, Montenegro (5 November 2013) -- Montenegro's Finance Minister Radoje Žugić and Governour of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) Rolf Wenzel signed Monday in Paris the Framework Agreement on the Implementation of the Regional Housing Programme.

The Framework Agreement provides for the funds for the implementation of the programme for displaced and internally displaced persons in Montenegro, through permanent and sustainable solutions, as one of the priorities on the Government’s agenda. The programme also includes the people who wish to return to the place from which they escaped.

Minister Žugić and Mr Wenzel agreed that the agreement made a big step forward towards finding final solutions for refugees and internally displaced persons in Montenegro and other countries of the region covered by the programme.

Finance Minister Žugić met in Paris with Vice-Chairman of the Rothschild’s European operations Jean - Claude Meyer for talks on all aspects of potential cooperation between Montenegro and the financial institution. The bank’s representative offered cooperation in the field of financial consulting for major development projects in tourism, energy and transport, and expressed interest in the privatisation process in Montenegro. They also showed interest in cooperation in the fields of debt financing and refinancing.
