Bucharest, Romania (19 November 2013) -- Montenegro’s Justice Minister Duško Marković and his Romanian counterpart Robert Marius Cazancius signed the Protocol on Cooperation between the two justice ministries in Bucharest earlier today.

“There are numerous field where we can achieve expert cooperation, exchange experience and advance our policies related to judiciary reform in terms of creating more efficient court network, combating organised crime and corruption, and advancing our penal and prison systems, “ Minister Marković told the press.

The protocol has to be implemented as quickly as possible, as Montenegro is expected to open negotiating chapters 23 and 24 in December. It requires all the assistance Montenegro can get from the countries that have already gone through that process, including Romania, he concluded.
