PM Đukanović attends Bucharest Economic Forum on eve of China-Central and Eastern European government leaders summit

Bucharest, Romania (26 November 2013) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović attended the Bucharest Economic Forum, which was held on the eve of the Summit of Heads of Government of China and Central and Eastern Europe.
The forum brought together delegations, led by prime ministers, from China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries, as well as more than 300 business people from the People's Republic of China.
The aim of the forum is to boost economic ties between European countries and China, as the world’s second economy, Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta said in his opening address. China has already been partnering with 125 countries, he underlined.
Prime Minister of China Li Keqiang noted that his country pays great importance to the continent of Europe. Europe is an important player in the world and united Europe is even stronger, the Chinese Prime Minister pointed out, adding that his country strongly backs up the European perspective.
The meeting concluded that business people from China are interested in cooperating with Europe in terms of major infrastructure projects, in buying more high-quality goods from Europe, encouraging their financial institutions to open branches in Europe, as well as Chinese tourists to travel to Europe.
Later today, Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović is to deliver a speech and to meet with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
