Brussels: DPM Lukšić participates at NATO’s North Atlantic Council (NAC), reaffirms Montenegro’s commitment to cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić participated today in Brussels at the ministerial meeting of NATO member-states and partners contributing to the ISAF missiom in Afghanistan. The meeting was chaired by NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
In his statement, DPM Lukšić underlined Montenegro’s commitment to strengthening safety and stability in Afganistan. In that regard, he reiterated Montenegro’s commitment to contributing to the NATO-led post 2014 Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan. He stressed Montenegro’s readiness to discuss, as the chair-country of the US-Adtriatic Charter (A5), the possibilities of joint regional contribution to peace-building in Afghanistan after the completion of the ISAF mission.
At the meeting sidelines, Mr Lukšić held short meetings with head diplomats of the Netherlands and Romania, and the NATO Deputy Secretary-General Alexander Vershbow, where he exchanged opinions on bilateral relations and continued cooperation in integration processes.
