Prime Minister Đukanović with "golden lionesses" in Belgrade: You are world's brend
Belgrade, Serbia (10 December 2013) – Montenegro's Prime Minister Milo Đukanović, who starts his official visit to Serbia, met on Monday evening in Belgrade with members of Montenegro’s women’s national handball team participating in the 2013 World Handball Championship.
The Prime Minister congratulated the "golden lionesses" and the team selector Dragan Adžić on the successful start of the competition, particularly emphasising the importance of good spirit, dedication and team work for success in sports and life.
"You, our handball players, are the world's brand in a situation where success is harder to defend than to chase it. We look forward to your results and brilliant performances that demonstrate quality, great heart and right attitude towards the national jersey," Prime Minister Đukanović noted on Monday.
The Prime Minister, women's handball team and the coaching staff exchanged views on the current course of the championship, while PM Đukanović wished "the lionesses" every success in this endeavour. The handball team selector Dragan Adžić, on behalf of the national team, thanked Prime Minister Milo Đukanović for his support and attention.
Montenegro’s women’s national handball team won a silver medal at London 2012 Olympics, which was Montenegro’s first ever Olympic medal as an independent country. The national handball team also won the European Championships in Belgrade in December 2012.
