DPM Lukšić, Ambassador Hřebíčková, discuss further Montenegro-OSCE cooperation

Podgorica, Montenegro (11 December 2013) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić hosted earlier today new Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro Janina Hřebíčková.

Ambassador Hřebíčkova highly praised the mission’s cooperation with representatives of public and civil sector in Montenegro. She pointed out that her mission will be concentrated on building favourable environment for developing independent and professional journalism on Montenegro’s future path towards European integration, where independent journalism should be based on ethics.

Deputy Prime Minister Luksic expressed satisfaction over many years of successful cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, and thanked the OSCE for the support for Montenegro’s integration processes.

Montenegro will continue its constructive and dynamic partnership with the OSCE in order to establish a system based on democracy, rule of law and transparency, DPM Lukšić noted. He welcomed the activities of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, pledging Montenegro’s full support for the organisation’s efforts in protecting journalists and improving their security, and in promoting media freedom in general.
