Munich: Deputy Prime Minister Lukšić meets with President of Bavarian Parliament Barbara Stamm

Munich, Geramy (31 January 2014)-- On the second day of his visit to Munich, Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister Igor Lukšić met with President of the Bavarian Parliament Barbara Stamm.
Mrs Stamm stressed the importance of the opening of the Consulate General of Montenegro in Munich, which will contribute to strengthening economic ties between Montenegro and Bavaria. She said there is significant room for improving relations, and bearing in mind that Bavaria has very strong political presence not only at the federal level but also beyond, there is possibility for cooperation in the field of European integration as well. She pointed out that the key to Bavaria’s success is a good link between universities and industry, and that these experiences may be useful to other countries that have consular offices in this region.
DPM Lukšić said that, despite very good and substantial cooperation with Germany, there is considerable scope for developing and intensifying cooperation with Bavaria, focusing on economic cooperation through the introduction of development potential in tourism, agriculture, energy, etc. He pointed out that Montenegro has a good offer that will arouse interest among potential Bavarian investors.
