Slovakia's Miroslav Lajčak: Montenegro “stands good chance” of being invited to join NATO during 2014 autumn summit
Munich, Germany (1 February 2014) – Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović meet Saturday in Munich with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčak. The meeting’s agenda particularly focused on the continuation of Montenegro’s European and Euro-Atlantic accession process.
Prime Minister Đukanović reiterated that his Government is fully committed to pursuing reforms within its further path towards the EU and NATO membership, and thanked Slovakia for its strong, continuous and sincere support.
Deputy Prime Minister Lajčak told the press following his meeting with PM Đukanović that Montenegro “stands good chance” of being invited to join the NATO during the 2014 autumn summit and that it should send a positive signal until May to persuade the NATO's that the next summit should be the enlargement one."
" If that is the case you will get the invitation. During the meeting with Prime Minister Đukanović I noticed that Montenegro knows what to do. The progress has been made," the Slovakian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs underlined following the meeting in Munich.
