Munich: Prime Minister Đukanović meets with US Senator John McCain

Munich, Germany (1 February 2014) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović spoke Saturday in Munich with US Senator John McCain.

Senator McCain, a doyen in the US Congress, voiced strong support for Montenegro's NATO bid, expecting it will successfully overcome the remaining steps towards the full membership . 

Both sides agreed that Montenegro’s accession into the NATO is a response to the challenges in the region and a reliable factor of the overall stability.

Members of the US Congress who attended the meeting praised the reforms carried out by Montenegro and encouraged the Government to continue meeting Euro-Atlantic integration agenda.

They also concluded that the partnership between Montenegro and the United States, as well as the recent establishment of a caucus groups for Montenegro, gives added impetus to the integration process and the overall development of the country.
