FM Žugić, Director of Terna Montenegro Markiori discuss project of underwater energy cable

Podgorica, Montenegro (4 February 2014) -- Finance Minister Radoje Žugić met yesterday with Executive Director of Terna Montenegro Claudio Markiori.
Mr Marchiori informed Minister Žugić about the ongoing activities related to the construction of the underwater energy cable between Montenegro and Italy. He pointed out that, in line with the project’s agenda, he expects the construction site to be opened in the second half of 2014.
Minister Žugić highlighted the project’s significance for both countries and expressed the Finance Ministry’s willingness to make a contribution to resolving all the outstanding issues. The Government of Montenegro aims, in parallel with the implementation of European standards and best practices, and through the process of harmonisation of its regulatory framework with that of the EU, particularly in the area of financial and fiscal policies, to provide conditions for further Italian companies' investments in Montenegro,Finance Minister Žugić underlined
