The Hague, the Netherlands (7 February 2014) – With the view to supporting the Government of Montenegro’s efforts in improving its capacity in the rule of law area, Prime Minister’s adviser for human rights and protection from discrimination Dr Jovan Kojičić has been selected to participate in the MATRA Patrol training programme ‘Access to Justice,’ which will be held on 9-19 March 2014 in The Hague, the Netherlands.
The programme is aimed at promoting institutional capacity building in the field of rule of law in the target countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey) by linking regional policy advisers, members of the judiciary and other civil servants with specialists and helping them inspire and lead the modernisation of their respective judicial systems. Inspired by the Dutch experience of a strict and fair justice system, the programme will foster collaboration among the participants to strengthen local expertise in various areas of policy, and enable the participants to train new experts in the region.
These activities are an excellent opportunity for Montenegro to develop contacts with neighbouring countries and Mr Kojičić’s participation in this programme will be very important for the improvement of regional cooperation in this area.
