Podgorica, Montenegro (14 February 2014) – At today’s meeting of the Centre for Sustainable Development management board, chaired by Minister of Tourism and Sustainable Development Branimir Gvozdenović, a presentation was made of the Centre’s planned activities, with a special emphasis on positioning the Centre domestically and regionally.

Among these activities, a media conference will be held in the following days to promote the centre to the broader public, and a regional sustainable development conference is being planned for this autumn.

The Centre’s management board will from now on also include Science Minister Sanja Vlahović, and Montenegro’s Ambassadors to the UN in New York and Geneva, Milorad Šćepanović and Ljubiša Perović.

The Centre for Sustainable Development came into being as a joint initiative of the Government of Montenegro and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro, and its chief mission is to promote sustainable development in the context of Montenegro’s accession to the European Union.
