Belgrade, Serbia (27 February 2014) – National Tourism Organisation and the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism presented Montenegro’s tourist offer at the 36th International Tourism Fair “IFT 2014,” taking place in Belgrade from 27 February until 2 March 2014.
The IFT tourism fair promotes various tourist offers from across the region and the world, including a broad spectre of Montenegrin tourist centres, as well as attractive travel-deals available for the Serbian market for the off-season period and summer tourism season. A rich cultural and entertaining programme Montenegro offers, including “Theatre City Budva,” “Budva Carnival,” “Top Hill” discotheque, music festivals such as “Exit,” “Southern Soul,” “Spring Break,” and Vivienne Westwood’s fashion show, was also presented at the fair.
IFT is seen as a great opportunity for attracting new investors, presenting capital investments in the Montenegrin tourism and the world’s leading hotel brands in Montenegro, particularly the first “One and Only” resort in Europe, whose construction has already started in Kumbor, and the first Regent Hotels & Resorts hotel in Europe, whose opening is scheduled for this season in Tivat. It was highlighted that, when taking into account these investments, as well as the Luštica and the Blue Horizon projects, Montenegro is now ranked 1st in Europe in terms of foreign investments in tourism per capita.
During the fair, Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Branimir Gvozdenović will attend the meeting of the “Economic Club of Serbia” and present Montenegro’s investment potentials and favourable environment for tourism investments not only for investors from the region, but also for those across the globe.
The statistical data indicated that Montenegro has confirmed the title of one the favourite tourism destinations for tourists from Serbia. According to Serbian data, half of the population who went on holiday last year chose Montenegro as their tourism destination.
