Broadband internet in border area of Prokletije mountain to boost cooperation between Montenegro and Albania

Shkoder, Albania (28 February 2014) – ''Broadband internet access project in the border area of the Prokletije mountain makes a notable contribution to boosting cooperation between Montenegro and Albania'', Montenegro's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Information Society and Telecommunications Vujica Lazović said at the conference which took place in Shkoder.

DPM Lazović underlined that access to e-services, ICT education, approach to cultural heritage and linking of local businesses are critical issues in mountain areas, stressing this project will boost mountain tourism and help overcome a digital gap existing in this area. Strengthening capacities in the information society is crucial for the Montenegrin and Albanian path towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration, he added.

The communication between Montenegro and Albania related to the information society development should be enhanced in the coming period, the conference concluded.
