Montenegro to enhance international cooperation in area of social welfare

Budapest, Hungary (1 March 2014) – Minster for Human and Minority Rights Suad Numanović attended a conference on social inclusion in an international context with an emphasis on people in extreme poverty, which took place in Budapest on Friday. 

Minster Numanović underlined that the conference provides a great opportunity for affirming Montenegro as a responsible member of the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005 – 2015 and a constructive partner of international organisations in the area of the Roma inclusion.

“Within its presidency of the Decade of Roma Inclusion, Montenegro has actively worked on issues such as education, employment, resolving legal status of the Roma population, as well as on issues related to gender equality and poverty reduction of the Roma people,” Minister Numanović highlighted.

Minister Numanović concluded by saying that this conference is aimed at boosting good cooperation between the Montenegrin institutions and international organisations in the field of social welfare.
