Monaco, Principality of Monaco (12 March 2014) -- On the first day of his visit to the Principality of Monaco, Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met with Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the continuity of the political dialogue at the highest level, which is an additional impetus to strengthening overall relations between the two countries, with special emphasis on economic cooperation. In that regard, they agreed that the conference on investing in Montenegro will be a great opportunity to promote the country as an attractive tourist and investment destination, but also a chance to boost ties with Monaco through attracting new business partners.

The two officials welcomed the existing cooperation in the fields of sustainable development and environmental protection, stressing the significance of fully implementing the Memorandum of Understanding signed in June 2013, which defines the common activities which will be undertaken in order to protect the Skadar Lake and the Bay of Kotor.

The meeting also addressed initiatives for further enhancing cooperation within multilateral forums and organisations, primarily within the Union for the Mediterranean.
