PM Đukanović congratulates Pope Francis on his first year in office: Montenegro and the Holy See cherish traditionally friendly relations

Prime Minister Milo Đukanović sent a letter to the Holy See in which he congratulated Pope Francis on his first year as pontiff of the Catholic Church.

Montenegro and the Holy See share the fundamental values of the Christian civilisation and cherish traditionally friendly relations. I firmly believe that this will continue in the future, on the basis of the Fundamental Agreement between Montenegro and the Holy See, and that our relations will continue developing in the spirit of good understanding, trust, and broad cooperation. An important contribution to this end, I am certain, will be given by the recently established joint commission for the implementation of the fundamental agreement, the Prime Minister’s letter to the Holy See Secretary of State Archbishop Pietro Parolin reads.
