On the second day of his working visit to Monaco, Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Đukanović met Thursday with the Minister of State of Monaco Michel Roger.

The two countries have established friendly relations, the two officials noted, highlighting that the framework agreement signed between the two governments in June 2013, as well as agreements on cooperation in the field of sustainable development, provides a sound basis for deepening the overall cooperation.

Prime Minister Đukanović stressed Montenegro’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with small, successful countries, and to exchanging experiences and knowledge, particularly in the areas where there are comparative advantages. In order to intensify cooperation between the two countries, he emphasised Montenegro’s openness towards attracting foreign investment, given that it is becoming one of major development destinations in the region.

Michel Roger, Minister of State of Monaco, said that Montenegro, since the restoration of independence in 2006, has achieved remarkable results in political and economic fields, and conveyed his Government’s willingness to upgrade cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture, science, environmental and biodiversity protection, conservation of marine cultural heritage, as well as the cooperation within international organisations.
