Montenegro’s police arrest suspected attackers on daily “Dan” journalist Lidija Nikčević

Podgorica, Montenegro (28 March 2014) – Montenegro’s police arrested six persons suspected of having organised and carried out the attack on journalist of Montenegro’s daily “Dan” Lidija Nikčević, who was brutally beaten in front of the newspaper’s bureau in the municipality of Nikšić on 3 January 2013.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Duško Marković commended the excellent achievement of Montenegro’s Police Administration and the Prosecution Office, which testify to the Government and state institutions’ firm commitment to ensure media freedom and security for journalists, thus contributing to the overall democratisation of the society.
