Minister Vučinović: Open dialogue leads to a better understanding of NATO membership benefits

Tivat, Montenegro (28 March 2014) – NATO integration is a Government priority and an open dialogue of all stakeholders will lead to a general public’s better understanding of NATO membership benefits, Minister without portfolio Marija Vučinović said at the public debate in Tivat entitled “NATO integration challenges.”

Other participants at the event, Colonel Mehmedin Tahirović, who is head of PR department and protocol at the Defence Ministry, and Renato Petrič, who is Slovenia’s Army Counter Admiral, spoke about NATO’s historic role in preserving stability. In that context, the two speakers noted that NATO guarantees territorial integrity through its collective security system and is especially important for small states.

The presentations were followed by a lively debate and a Q&A session with the speakers.
