Prime Minister Đukanović meets with World Bank CFO Bertrand Badré in Washington

Washington, D.C, the USA (9 April 2014) – During his visit to Washington, Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met with World Bank Group Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Bertrand Badré.

The Prime Minister informed Mr Badré about positive developments in Montenegro’s economy after the fiscal consolidation and pointed out its priorities, such as structural reforms, strengthening competitiveness and boosting the private sector. He also voiced hope that the World Bank’s reform measures will have positive effect on all its clients, including Montenegro.

"The World Bank has always been an important partner of Montenegro in crucial periods for its economy", Prime Minister Đukanović emphasised.

Mr Badré pointed out that the World Bank opens space for intensifying cooperation with Montenegro, which, in accordance with the unified approach policy, is an important customer of the financial institution. He informed Montenegro’s Prime Minister about the World Bank’s priorities for the coming period, stressing the universal objectives, such as the eradication of poverty and improving the quality of life.
