PM Đukanović meets US congressmen in Washington: USA willing to support Montenegro’s membership in NATO

Washington, D.C, the USA (10 April 2014) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović ended his official visit to the USA by meeting with members of the Montenegrin caucus from the both houses of the United States Congress.

Members of the Montenegrin caucus pledged strong support for Montenegro’s accession to the NATO, adding that the country’s membership is not only significant for Montenegro, but also for the entire Western Balkans region, as well as for the USA.

The officials noted that stability of the region is one of the preconditions for European stability and good perspective of the transatlantic partnership.

Prime Minister Đukanović thanked the respectable Montenegrin caucus for continuing support for Montenegro's key foreign policy goal and commended cooperation and partnership between Montenegro and the USA.

It was agreed that Montenegro can count on the USA 's strong support for its Euro-Atlantic accession process and implementation of reforms within the Montenegrin society.
