Security and Defence Committee held its Sixteenth session

Security and Defence Committee held a control hearing of Director of the National Security Agency on recording and keeping data in terms of application of the Law on National Security Agency.
Following the comprehensive discussion on the topic of the control hearing, the following conclusions were adopted:
1. The Committee states that the National Security Agency, as security-intelligence service and an integral part of Montenegro’s security system - in the context of recording and keeping data - has been undertaking measures and activities in line with its legal authorizations, safety standards and procedures, as well as other fields defining the subject area;
2. Bearing in mind the importance of the above issues, the Committee confirms full readiness to continue monitoring the legality of the work of the competent state authorities, in accordance with its powers, in order to ensure the effective implementation of laws and rule of law;
3. The Committee insists on continuation of the full professional communication of the relevant state bodies with citizens, with the aim of effective protection of human rights and freedoms and strengthening confidence in this regard.
