CRBC Director General Shan: Construction of Bar-Boljare motorway to begin as soon as EXIM Bank ends procedures

Macao, China (9 May 2014) – Montenegro’s Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Ivan Brajović attended the International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum, where he met with Director General of the Chinese Company CRBC Lu Shan for talks on the construction of the Bar-Boljare motorway.

Director General Shan reiterated fully committed to implementing the project, adding that the construction of the motorway, that is its priority section Smokovac-Mateševo, will begin as soon as the implementation of the required procedures launched by the EXIM Bank is completed.

The equipment is ready and a project manager for Montenegro has already been appointed, Mr Shan stressed, adding that Montenegro serves as a good example of fruitful and successful cooperation between China and South-East European countries, he added.

Montenegro’s delegation participated in Macao in the public discussion dedicated to the partnership between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. China is willing to invest $ 10 billion in the region of Central and Southeast Europe in order to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy and industry, the Chinese representatives underlined.
