PM Đukanović visits Bratislava: Montenegro’s NATO ambition realistic, Czech Prime Minister says at GLOBSEC forum in Slovakia

Bratislava, Slovakia (15 May 2014) – Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met earlier today at the GLOBSEC forum in Slovakia with his counterpart from the Czech Republic, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, who underlined that the Czech Republic is continuing its consistent policy of supporting the Western Balkans countries in their aspirations to join the EU and NATO.

Prime Minister Sobotka further noted that Montenegro’s ambition to join the North Atlantic Organisation are very realistic and noted Montenegro is a serious candidate for membership.

Prime Minister Đukanović noted that the Czech experience was an inspiration and support to Montenegro in the integration processes as well as in other areas.

The Czech Prime Minister also welcomed Montenegro’s efforts in the EU integration process as well as the reforms that have been implemented. The two officials agreed that the excellent political dialogue between the two countries should be used to improve economic cooperation in the areas of investment and trade.
