Ambassador Hasanov: Azerbaijani investments in Montenegro to be expanded in future

Podgorica, Montenegro (20 May 2014) – At his meeting with Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister Duško Marković earlier today, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Eldar Hasanov commended Montenegro’s reforms and its role of a stability factor in the Western Balkans. He added the progress Montenegro has made contributes directly to further strengthening partnership between the two countries, especially in terms of Azerbaijani direct investments in Montenegro, which scope is planned to be expanded in the future.

DPM Marković express his appreciation for Azerbaijan’s investment in the reconstruction of the King's Park in Podgorica and a kindergarten in the municipality of Bijelo Polje, and welcomed its willingness to take part in other development projects in Montenegro, in line with its investment policy.

The two officials agreed that Montenegro’s successful path towards EU and NATO membership, particularly the activities aimed at further strengthening the rule of law and legal certainty, will bring considerable benefit not only for foreign and domestic companies operating in Montenegro, but primarily for its citizens.

In the context of the successful implementation of the "One and Only" resort in Kumbor, Ambassador Hasanov told Deputy Prime Minister Marković that, according to the plan, activities on the project implementation will be tripled in 2014.
