Podgorica, Montenegro (20 May 2014) – Montenegro has exceeded all expectations in providing assistance to Serbia in dealing with the catastrophic floodings, Serbian Ambassador Zoran Bingulac underlined at a meeting with Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Igor Lukšić in Podgorica earlier today. He thanked Montenegro for its generous assistance and for the letters of support sent by its officials which are the first letters of support the Government of Serbia has received.

Expressing sympathy with the people of Serbia, Deputy Prime Minister Lukšić voiced belief that generous aid Serbia has been receiving from increasing number of countries will help overcome the difficult situation as quickly as possible. He reiterated that a large number of Montenegro's citizens made donations through various forms of assistance, thus showing great solidarity with the people hit by the severe floodings in neighbouring Serbia.
