Transport Minister Brajović: Montenegro and France to enhance cooperation in airport infrastructure
Podgorica, Montenegro (6 June 2014) – Montenegro's Minister of Transport Ivan Brajović met with Alain Richard, Special Representative of the French Minister of Foreign Affairs on economic diplomacy in the Western Balkans, for talks on the improvement of economic cooperation between the two states.
Minister Brajović informed the French delegation about current status of Montenegro's air traffic, visions for developing airports and infrastructure projects, including the construction of the Bar-Boljare motorway.
Minister Brajović presented the Master plan for the airport development until 2030, pointing out the airport is one of the state-owned companies with successful management and clear vision for advancing capacities. In that regard, he highlighted the Master plan is aimed at constructing a terminal building, reconstructing the maneuvering areas at the airports in Tivat and Podgorica.
The Government is committed to cooperating with business partners within private-public partnership or concessions in airport infrastructure, particularly referring to the cargo terminal and airport hotel, the Transport Minister emphasised.
Speaking of the implementation of the capital project, the Bar-Boljare motorway, Minister Brajović stressed that all the activities are being implemented according to the schedule. He said he is hopeful about the beginning of the implementation of the financial agreement with the Chinese EXIM Bank, which will be the subject to the parliamentary procedure.
Special Representative Alain Richard underlined that France is willing to boost cooperation with Montenegro, not only at the expertise level related to consultations, suggestions and technical support, but also in terms of strengthening economic cooperation between the two states.
