Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić sent to his Montenegrin counterpart Milo Đukanović a telegram expressing gratitude for the assistance the Government of Montenegro provided on the occasion of the catastrophic floods that has hit Serbia recently.

“Hereby we would like to thank you cordially for the support the government of Montenegro has sent to Serbia in extremely difficult time for our country," the telegram reads.

Serbian Prime Minister referred to the cataclysmic scale of the flood wave, which has left vast areas of Central and Western Serbia under water, which resulted in losses of human lives and material damage, adding they would have been be much bigger if there had been no assistance of Montenegro. In that context, he particularly highlighted the importance of Montenegro’s rescue teams and equipment, which made an invaluable contribution to flood-stricken areas.

"Serbia and the Serbian people will never forget Montenegro’s generous and timely assistance and will highly appreciate your gesture as an expression of true friendship. I owe my personal appreciation to you, Mr Prime Minister, for enabling the assistance to reach the people in need," Prime Minister Vučić said in his telegram.
