Podgorica, Montenegro (17 June 2014) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović hosted Monday evening journalists from the EU member states, who are visiting the country within the project titled "Let's Discover Montenegro".

"Future of Montenegro lies in its European and Euro-Atlantic integrations," the Prime Minister told the reporters of European dailies, weeklies, radio stations and news agencies.

He voiced satisfaction with the progress Montenegro made on its path towards EU and NATO membership, pointing out the reforms implied by the integration processes are in the Montenegrin society’s best interest. He recalled that Montenegro's achievements have been recognised by the international community on many occasions, which is reflected through Montenegro's position in the process of joining the EU and the expectation to become the first next NATO member state.

"Achievements in the fields of political stability and good neighbourly relations are equally valuable for Montenegro," Prime Minister Đukanović added, stressing the significance of the integration for the stability and prosperity of the countries of South East Europe.

The Prime Minister also informed the media representatives about the priority tasks of his Government in the areas of investment and economic development.

"European quality of life is the aim of our seriously conducted social reforms and commitments to further economic progress," PM Đukanović concluded.
