World Bank to support advancement of business and investment environment in Montenegro

Podgorica, Montenegro (26 June 2014) – World Bank’s is willing to provide even more stronger support for private sector development in Montenegro with a view to boosting the overall economic growth, World Bank’s Executive Director Frank Heemskerk told Montenegro's Prime Minister earlier today in Podgorica.

Montenegro and the World Bank have developed very successful and opened cooperation, the two officials agreed.

Prime Minister Đukanović emphasised the Government has been pursuing accountable fiscal and public finances policies, adding that Montenegro is to make efforts towards strengthening business and investment environment through pursuing structural reforms. World Bank’s support in that regard is crucial, he pointed out, adding that its presence in Montenegro is an recognition for the country's financial policy and support for its economy development.

"Great interest of foreign investors and realistic expectations that Montenegro can become the fastest growing economy and investment destination is another confirmation that we are on the right track," Prime Minister Đukanović stated.
