Prime Minister Đukanović congratulates Albania on winning EU candidate status

Podgorica, Montenegro (1 July 2014) – Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović congratulated President of Albania Edi Rama on winning the EU candidate status.

In his letter of congratulation, Prime Minister Đukanović emphasised the European Council’s decision to grant the candidate status is the result of intensive efforts made by Albania in strengthening the reform process and fulfilling its European criteria. 

Referring to the friendly relations established between the two countries, the Prime Minister stressed that Montenegro is willing to share experience gained during the accession process and provide full support to Albania in building a common European future.
