PM Đukanović congratulates US President Barack Obama on Independence Day

Podgorica, Montenegro (4 July 2014) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović sent his congratulations to US President Barack Obama on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.

“On this occasion, I wish to express my satisfaction over the high level of relations between our states which serve as a confirmation of the traditional friendship between the people of Montenegro and the United States. I believe that the time ahead of us will be fulfilled with further development and strengthening of mutual cooperation, in all fields and in our mutual interest,” PM Đukanović emphasised in his letter of congratulations.

Expressing his desire for success and further overall prosperity of the United States at national and international levels, Prime Minister Đukanović underlined:

“We particularly appreciate the cooperation and continuous support that the Government of the United States of America has been providing towards the democratic and economic development of Montenegro and our ambitions to become a member of the European and Euro-Atlantic families of nations, whose values we fully share. The Government of Montenegro remains fully committed to the efficient implementation of reforms with a view to enhancing the living quality of Montenegrin citizens and meeting the priority foreign policy goals – the impending membership in the NATO and the EU,” PM Đukanović concluded.
