Podgorica, Montenegro (17 July 2014) -- Montenegro’s police apprehended two persons suspected of attacking journalist of the daily “Vijesti” Tufuk Softić in front of his home in Berane in November 2007, when two masked attackers caused him great bodily harm in a classical ambush.

Interior Minister Raško Konjević commended the Police Authority and the Prosecutor's Office for employing all available resources to investigate the attack thoroughly over the past 12 months.

Commenting on the media statement that the two suspected attackers were released from prison after the hearing, Minister Konjević noted:

“I think the prosecutor chose the option set out in the Criminal Code of Montenegro which implies the seizure of travel documents and order not the leave the territory of Montenegro.”
