Busiest locations in six Montenegro's municipalities covered with free Wi-Fi
Podgorica, Montenegro (28 July 2014) -- First phase of covering Montenegro with digital radio-communications signals has been completed, the TETRA system is being successfully used and the busiest locations in six Montenegro’s municipalities has been covered with free WiFi wireless internet signal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information Society and Telecommunications Vujica Lazović stated at the meeting with Austrian Ambassador Johannes Fröhlich, Director of the Austrian Development Bank (OeEB) Andrea Hagmann and Executive Director of "Wireless Montenegro" Herwart Wermescher.
The meeting was organized on the occasion of the recent signing of the Austrian Development Bank's loan support of to the company "Wireless Montenegro".
Executive Director of the Austrian Development Bank Andrea Hagmann said the long-term credit line amounting to approximately EUR 9 million is first direct involvement of the bank in Montenegro and that it sees the project as a cornerstone for other projects in Montenegro.
The company Wireless Montenegro was established on the basis of the public-private partnership of the Government of Montenegro and the company Austria's EOSS with a view to developing the TETRA network and wireless internet.
According to the Ministry’s data of February 2014, more than one million free internet connections through the network Wireless Montenegro was registered.
