Montenegro's government and business delegation take part in Investment Forum in Prague

PR BureauPrague, Czech Republic (28 August 2014) – Montenegro’ government and business delegation, led by Mayor of Cetinje Aleksandar Bogdanović, participated in the China Investment Forum and meeting of local leaders of Central and Eastern Europe and China, which took place in Prague, under the auspices of President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman.

During the first day of the two-day forum, Mayor Bogdanović spoke at the panel discussion attended by numerous government officials from China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as by investors interested in investing in the region of Western Balkan.

In his speech, Mr Bogdanović said that Montenegro is a small and open economic system, which has great conditions for attracting foreign capital and for the valuation of its abundant resources. To attract foreign capital and take advantage of development opportunities, it is necessary to undertake a set of measures aimed at achieving international competitiveness of the economic space and creating an attractive investment environment.

"Our cooperation with Chinese partners in infrastructure has been excellent. The statement is based on the fact that Montenegro in the contracting phase for more than one billion dollars of loans, which is more than 10% of the funds planned for the region of Central and Eastern Europe," he stressed.

Mayor Bogdanovic also voiced belief that the Prague forum will help strengthen cooperation and economic relations between Central and Eastern European countries.

"In this way we create an environment in which we share common values, contribute to the well-being of our citizens and provide a higher quality of life in our countries," Mr Bogdanović concluded.
