Podgorica, Montenegro (16 September 2014) – Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met late this afternoon with representatives of China’s company CRBS, construction contractor of the Bar – Boljare highway's priority section.
Representatives of the CRBS, with whom the Agreement on the Highway Construction had been signed, told the Prime Minister that the preconditions for the completion of formal procedures for signing soon the Financial Agreement and for the beginning of the major project's implementation have been created. They voiced hope the green light from the Montenegrin side is to be given through the parliamentary procedure of verifying the Agreement on the Highway Construction, so that the works could start.
Prime Minister Đukanović highlighted that his government believes the project is to be successfully implemented, thus enabling next phases of this and future priority infrastructure projects in Montenegro to be carried out.
CRBS's representatives particularly emphasised their willingness to engage local labour and resources, and to sponsor educational programmes for students in the field of road construction, as work on the highway progress.
