PM Đukanović: Montenegro-Azerbaijan cooperation to be enriched by new projects in infrastructure, energy

Podgorica, Montenegro (19 September 2014) – Montenegrin Prime Minister's visit to Baku and his meetings with top Azerbaijan’s officials give a powerful impetus to further interstate cooperation, today's meeting between Prime Minister Đukanović and Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Assad concluded.

Since establishing diplomatic relations, the two countries have managed to develop meaningful and efficient cooperation in a number of areas, Prime Minister Đukanović stressed, particularly referring to the field of economy which, following the Montenegrin delegation’s visit, will be enriched through the work of the joint committee and the implementation of new projects in the field of infrastructure and energy.

Prime Minister Đukanović will be a guest at the dinner for heads of delegations, hosted by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, on the eve of the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the construction of the Southern Gas Corridor, which will be connected to the arm of Ionian Adriatic Pipeline, which is of great significance for Montenegro and its economy.
