Construction of Bar – Boljare highway to boost economic cooperation between Montenegro and China

Podgorica, Montenegro (3 November 2014) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović hosted earlier today Vice President of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress Zhang Ping for talks on economic cooperation between the two countries, with a particular emphasis on the construction of the Bar – Boljare highway.

Montenegro and China cherish traditionally good partnership which will be additionally strengthened through dynamic political dialogue and economic cooperation, PM Đukanović stressed. He commended the recently signed agreement crucial for the implementation of the highway project, adding that it creates enough space for further joint cooperation within the Initiative for cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries.

PM Đukanović and Mr Ping agreed that the joint partnership on the construction of the most significant infrastructural project in Montenegro proves that states are not measured by their size, but by equal partnership and quality of the relations.

Two states cherish good cooperation in the fields of science, education and culture, as well as in tourism and agriculture, the meeting concluded.
