Interior Minister Konjević: Montenegro supports strengthening unique, efficient mechanism of police cooperation in SE Europe
Brdo kod Kranja, Slovenia (11 November 2014) – Montenegro supports the strengthening of unique and efficient mechanism for boosting the police cooperation in the South–East Europe and it is willing to continue its active engagement within this legislative framework, which contributes to the stability and safety of the entire region, Interior Minister Raško Konjević highlighted in his address at the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Police Convention on Cooperation in Southeast Europe.
Minister Konjević presented the activities which are being implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and the Montenegrin Police Authority in terms of strengthening partnership of police authorities in the region. These activities confirm Montenegro’s commitment to continuing its proactive policy in the security sector, Minister Konjević added.
During his visit to Slovenia, Minister Konjević met with the recently appointed Minister of the Interior of Slovenia Vesna Žindar for talks on bilateral cooperation.
The two officials agreed that Montenegro and Slovenia cherish good relations based on traditional cooperation in the field of the interior affairs, which forms a solid basis for boosting ties between the two ministries, particularly with regard to the issues arising from Montenegro’s European agenda.
