DPM Lazović: Montenegro committed to making progress in fight against cyber crime

Podgorica, Montenegro (13 November 2014) – Cyber defence seminar, which will takes place in Podgorica and the presentation of the Cisco System International, as a leading company in the field of information technologies, is critical for the information security in Montenegro, DPM and Minister for Information Society and Telecommunications Vujica Lazović stressed at the meeting with Cisco and US Embassy representatives.

The officials agreed that permanent education and tracing of the new trends is crucial for the information security of every state and that thr security policy must be followed by proactive activities and strategies. In that regard, they discuss mechanisms of cooperation through establishing a platform for joint action aimed at improving the information security in Montenegro.

The establishment of the National Centre for Prevention and Suppression of Incidents on the Internet (CIRT) within the Ministry for the Information Society and Telecommunications, as a key organisation for fight against cyber threats and challenges on the Montenegrin territory, is a significant step forward in the cyber security field, DPM Lazović concluded.
