Podgorica, Montenegro (20 November 2014) – One of the key preconditions for Montenegro to become a high-level tourist destination in Europe is transport accessibility and improved air traffic services, Prime Minister Milo Đukanović underlined in his meeting yesterday in Podgorica with Nicolas Notebaert, Chairman of the VINCI Airports Group, one of the largest airport operators in the world.
In this way, Mr Đukanović has noted, flight frequency will grow and Montenegro will become more accessible for tourists and visitors, which will open up possibilities for attracting new investors.
VINCI Group representatives said they are interested in establishing partnerships with Montenegrin airports, where they could offer the highest standard of services in the region and Europe. They also noted their activities would include a marketing campaign promoting Montenegro to investors, tourists, and visitors.
The meeting concluded that talks should be continued with the line ministry, with the view to discuss the offer and possible partnership.
VINCI Group operates 24 airports world-wide, with an estimated 40 million passengers, and has done numerous projects in the US, Russia, France, the UK, Portugal, and the region
