Minister Vlahović discusses Montenegrin scientists' participation in CERN's researches

Geneva, Switzerland ( 2 December 2014) – During her official visit to Switzerland, Montenegro’s Science Minister Sanja Vlahović visited the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) at the invitation of director of the prestigious scientific institution Rolf Heuer.

Director Heuer presented the institution’s activities and projects, as well as the opportunities it offers for non-member countries, such as Montenegro.

The meeting focused on concrete collaboration through defining a 5-year cooperation protocol concerning the involvement of Montenegro's scientists in projects the CERN is currently working on and attending of training programmes at this institution. The cooperation also enables opportunities for young researchers for doctoral and post-doctoral theses and work in the CERN's modern laboratories, use of equipment, training programmes for high school physics teachers, as well as student summer schools which bring together students of physics and engineering sciences on an annual basis.
