Advisor Kojičić discusses in Belgrade preparation of third IDAHO ministerial forum

Belgrade, Serbia (2 December 2014) -- With a view to promoting and preparing the 3th IDAHO Forum at the ministerial level, which will be hosted by Montenegro from 10 - 12 May 2015, Adviser to the Prime Minister Jovan Kojičić met in Belgrade with representatives of the government of Serbia, embassies of the Netherlands and Norway, as well as civil society organisations dealing with issues of protecting and promoting rights of LGBT persons.

Advisor Kojičić stressed the forum will is an excellent opportunity to promote regional cooperation and positive examples in the region when it comes to protection from discrimination. He reiterated the government's strong commitment to upgrading social status of marginalised groups, including the LGBT community.

Advisor Kojičić added that a meeting of the European network of LGBT police organisations, as well as a meeting of the LGBT governmental network, will be held in parallel with the IDAHO Forum.

Mr Kojičić also presented the activities related to training progranmmes of members of judicial and prosecutorial organisations aimed at boosting the institutions’ capacity in working with the the LGBT community and approaching to victims of hate crimes.
