Netherlands to continue supporting Montenegro’s activities towards strengthening rule of law

Podgorica, Montenegro (11 December 2014) – The Netherlands will continue supporting Montenegro’s efforts aimed at strengthening the rule of law through concrete projects regarding the judiciary reform process and fight against organised crime and corruption, Director General for the Administration of Justice and Law Enforcement at the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice Gerard Roes underlined at the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Duško Marković.

DPM Marković thanked Mr Roes for financial and expertise support of the Netherlands, emphasising particularly the results of various projects related to the judiciary reform, strengthening access to justice through introduction of free legal assistance, implementation of integrity plans regarding the prevention of corruption and donation of the Luris software for conducting the electronic records.

Director General Roes noted he is aware of the results which Montenegro has made within its European agenda, adding that the Dutch Ministry of Justice will continue providing support to the Montenegro’s reform process.
