Prime Minister Đukanović to attend Munich Security Conference
Podgorica, Montenegro (5 February 2015) – Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović will leave tomorrow for Munich, where he will attend the 51st Munich Security Conference, at the invitation of the Chairman, Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger.
The Munich Conference will open on Friday and it will gather around 400 leading politicians, heads of state and governments, as well as world experts who will discuss the issue of at a time of terrorist threats, disintegration of the international order, European future in terms of security, the crisis in Ukraine, situation in the Near and Middle East and other matters.
The conference should be attended, among others, by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, US Vice President Joseph Biden, US Secretary of State John Carry and Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
The conference will be an opportunity for numerous meetings and presentation of views on developments in Montenegro and the region, as well as the results of the negotiation process with the EU and meeting of the requirements from the Euro-Atlantic agenda in the light of the membership invitation expected to be sent by the end of the year.
