PR BureauPodgorica, Montenegro (4 March 2015) – Montenegro will participate for the third time (first time in Liege in 1905 and second in Shanghai in 2010) in the Expo Universal Exposition, which this year will be hosted by Milan, Italy, from 1 May to 31 October 2015. More than 140 countries will participate and it is expected to welcome over 20 million visitors to its 1.1 million square metres of exhibition.

The theme of Expo Milan 2015 is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, which perfectly frames a cultural model and the efforts of Montenegro as it promotes its traditions, whilst responding to new economic and scientific influences.

Montenegro pavilion, designed by the world famous architect Marko Brajović, covers 375 metres square within the Bio-Mediterranean cluster related to the topics of health, harmony and beauty. The pavilion, a mix of traditional and modern, presents Montenegro’s typical food and drink, interactive tools and galleries. It is also a chance to promote the country as an attractive tourist and investment destination, advance cooperation with the host country and other countries participating at the exhibition, as well as to inform visitors about successful companies coming from Montenegro and make their products internationally known. Form and atmosphere of the pavilion has been taken from Montenegro’s tradition and natural beauties, presented through modern technologies.

Montenegro’s national day at EXPO 2015 is scheduled for 21 May, and will be marked by a performance of the Montenegrin artist Miloš Karadaglić, a world famous classical guitarist, within a broad multimedia programme representing traditional Montenegrin music in new and modern fashion.
